The Dalmore Distillery, renowned for producing exceptional whiskies, appointed JAMstudio to undertake a series of enhancements to the distillery visitor centre and tour experience. The million pound project comprised complete refurbishment of existing buildings including feature light show, specialist joinery and bespoke interiors.

Scope

The Dalmore Distillery is located on the banks of the Cromarty Firth in Alness, Ross-Shire and owned by Whyte & Mackay, based in Glasgow.

Environment

The budget of £1m included refurbishment of the Dalmore Visitor Centre, enhancement of the production area, and new office accommodation.

Fact

The concept and planning stages of the project took nine months, while the on-site construction phase was six months from start to finish.

Technical

The distillation process creates an explosive environment in the still house, necessitating very careful selection of electrical fittings.

Project feedback

The Dalmore Visitor Experience retains the heritage and traditions of The Dalmore in a contemporary, engaging way thanks to JAMstudio.
