Marie-Louise Dunk

Director and Chartered Architect

true

Founding JAMstudio in 2003 with John, I am a fully chartered Architect registered with the Arb, RIBA and RIAS.

I usually undertake the initial design concept for our projects, and prepare our project feasibility studies when we are working through ideas for our clients. I then work up the final concept and get it ready for the Planning submissions stage and beyond.

Being an Architect requires commitment to continual learning and this year I have really enjoyed increasing my ability to create super realistic renderings for our projects using Revit and Enscape. I am also aiming to become a conservation accredited architect later in year.

Fact

I am a keen amateur photographer and in one of the images here in my gallery you can see a picture of the Aurora Borealis viewed from our garden here at the studio!

Secret

I am mad about labradors - they keep us sane!! Our much beloved black lab Cerny sadly passed away in the Autumn of 2019, but his legacy lives on and we now have the pleasure of two yellow labradors, Jackjack who is 10 and Lumi who is nearly a year old.

Hero

Richard Rogers, principally for the work he did on the Lloyds building which was inspirational for me as a youngster growing up in London.

Ambition

I would very much like to design a full Passivhaus building for one of our projects and also become an accredited Conservation Architect. We have several very interesting projects in the pipeline, so hopefully both these will become realised in the next year.
