JAMstudio’s proposal for a replacement house at a site near Cluny has been designed in the style of the local cottage vernacular with a combination of contemporary material choices. The scheme aims to be highly sustainable and energy efficient, far exceeding current building regulations with the design of the external insulated envelope, its orientation on site and the specification of local, easy to maintain and long lasting materials. The end result is a building which is warm, cosy and extremely cost effective to run.
