The new spacious kitchen/family room opens directly onto the garden, providing excellent views across the neighbouring countryside. Numerous further alterations including a replacement sunroom extension to the living room, along with other minor adjustments throughout the rest of the house were made to enable the home to be better suited for a family with growing children.

Wanting to maximise the connection with the outside large sliding doors were installed leading to a new slate patio which connects the new living spaces with the garden. Panoramic slot windows were installed in the kitchen and utility to provide picture-framed views to the outside
Bespoke joinery, timber floors, timber cladding and large glazed sliding doors define the old and new parts of the house with a modern finish. The new kitchen includes the installation of an Aga range. The annex suite includes a living room, bedroom and en-suite.
JAMstudio produced compensation calculations for overall thermal performance and heat loss. These were required due to the extent of the glazing proposed exceeding permitted allowances stated by building standards. Wall, roof and floor insulation thicknesses were increased to enable the building to comply with standards.
