The Dalmore Distillery, Alness

The million pound project comprised complete refurbishment of existing buildings including feature light show, specialist joinery and bespoke interiors.

The Dalmore Distillery is located on the banks of the Cromarty Firth in Alness, Ross-Shire and owned by Whyte & Mackay, based in Glasgow.
scope
The budget of £1m included refurbishment of the Dalmore Visitor Centre, enhancement of the production area, and new office accommodation.
timescale
The concept and planning stages of the project took nine months, while the on-site construction phase was six months from start to finish.
technical
The distillation process creates an explosive environment in the still house, necessitating very careful selection of electrical fittings.
